And secondly - you want to try singing at any kind of reasonable standard in the middle of some high-energy choreographed dance routine?

As regards gig culture, the appropriate response is to stand around stroking one's beard and looking enigmatic and detached. This is why Beeso has a beard. Alternately you can dive into the silliness at front-of-stage, get sweaty, and possibly get injured; or you can stand in between the moshers and the beard-strokers and just wave your arms in the air, with the rest of us in betweeners.Dr Yobbohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10032085614743539793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7795390.post-80584892149028677102009-11-12T15:13:31.805+10:002009-11-12T15:13:31.805+10:00As far as I'm aware the furour is because they...As far as I'm aware the furour is because they didn't show the closeup on the jumbo screen because of the lip-synching. This is only what I have heard though and I'm not sure if it is true.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7795390.post-90002587958857305232009-11-12T15:01:23.579+10:002009-11-12T15:01:23.579+10:00Hey Beeso,

I've never really got it, to tell the truth.

I haven't been to all that many concerts. A couple of Nick Cave, and he's got great stage presence. TISM was lots of fun, because I could sing and dance along.

A classical concert etc you're there to listen - but at a gig, when you're with friends, I always feel unsure how to act (not that I've been to many). I want to chat to my friends, but can't hear - or I want to bop along but it's not the place for it....

It's just too confusing. I'll just go put Britney on in my living room and dance like a 12-year-old. ;)Girl Clumsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01056312179921746322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7795390.post-41730292293484629522009-11-12T14:26:34.289+10:002009-11-12T14:26:34.289+10:00Hmm

There is only so much you can overcome.

However I'd take a live gig with actual live music by the cat empire or resin dogs over a "show" any day.beesohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11876219112305527188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7795390.post-64152671901096242912009-11-12T13:51:43.476+10:002009-11-12T13:51:43.476+10:00There's a lot of entertainment that relies on ...There's a lot of entertainment that relies on people being tricked. We wouldn't enjoy a magic show, or Big Brother, or Impro Theatre if we knew how they did them.

Remember when Joey from Friends said the best way to cry in an emotional scene was to discretely pluck your public hairs with tweezers from your trouser pocket?

I don't want to know that.
It's too much information.Dan Beestonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05579585743289114991noreply@blogger.com
