Hands off My Interwebs!

Because no matter what the government thinks, a clean feed is not going to stop child sexual abuse. It's just going to stop you, the Australian net geek, from your deity-given right to download free porn involving consenting (if somewhat tubby) adults. And it's going to slow down the internet so much, it'll be faster to personally deliver handwritten post-it notes to your friends than tweet at them.

  1. And I have written to members of parliement as well.

I am wondering if they are going to go ahead with this boneheaded idea or just quietly not finish the trial and put the whole thing off and if any wowsers ask say that they are stillstuding technical issues.

Give me a venial, money hungry, selfish pollie any day over one with a moral code they think needs to be imposed.

  2. I for one have faith in all the geeklings in high school right now. I am sure these bright little sparks will have done something before lunch on the first day ensuring the whole mess will be tossed out the window by the end of the week. Well that is what I am hoping for anyway.

  3. Mr Barnes... Trials with ISP filtering began last week. The only Major ISP to join the trials is IPrimus. All the other major ISPs are against it.

Even the Governments own advisors advised against filtering.

There are many ways of getting around filtering and as DD says every school kid and geek knows how. Takes about 5 minutes to set up.

  4. "...consenting, if somewhat tubby..."

Is there something you're not telling us? And is there a place I can go to download the GirlClumsy version? Sounds like fun!
